Senior Civil Structural Engineer

A full-time onsite role in Lagos for an experienced civil and structural engineer working on oil and gas facilities. The position is with an engineering-focused organisation in the energy sector that delivers projects to strict technical, safety and quality requirements. It suits a senior professional with a long track record in designing steel and reinforced concrete structures for process plants, and who is comfortable coordinating with other disciplines and supporting work through construction.

What you'll do

• Carry out structural analysis and design of steel and reinforced concrete structures, equipment foundations and pipe racks
• Prepare engineering calculations, design specifications, technical reports and material take-offs
• Review design drawings and vendor documents against approved design criteria
• Coordinate technical interfaces with other engineering disciplines
• Support construction, including resolving site queries and evaluating proposed design changes
• Deliver assigned engineering work to project schedules, standards and quality procedures

What you need

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant civil and structural engineering experience
• At least 5 years designing oil and gas facilities
• Proficiency in STAAD.Pro, SACS or equivalent structural software
• Sound knowledge of engineering codes, design standards and construction methods
• COREN registration or equivalent professional qualification is an advantage
