Senior Data Analyst, Finance (Remote - US only)
A profitable, fast-growing business travel technology company is looking for a Senior Data Analyst to build and own the data and analytics that support its internal finance team. You will work directly with the Head of Finance as the lead analyst for the function. The role centres on making finance insights faster, more accurate and less manual, and on producing the models and reporting that leadership, the board and investors depend on. Equity is included for all roles, and some positions may also include an annual bonus.
What you'll do
- Act as the lead data analyst for the finance team, scoping open-ended questions and turning them into rigorous, data-driven answers.
- Design and maintain a finance data layer in Snowflake, including documented data models and pipelines that combine ERP, billing, payroll and operational data into one trusted source.
- Apply AI and automation to reduce manual finance work, such as automated reconciliations, anomaly detection, self-serve reporting and AI-assisted analysis that speeds up month-end and planning.
- Build and manage finance dashboards in Looker covering revenue, margin, operating expenses and cash.
- Use advanced SQL and statistical methods such as regression, time-series forecasting and driver analysis to explain financial trends and improve forecast accuracy.
- Analyze operating expenses, headcount and vendor spend to identify efficiencies, and present clear findings and recommendations to the executive team and board.
What you need
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Operations Research or a related quantitative field.
- 5+ years as a data or business analyst, ideally partnering with Finance or FP&A.
- Advanced SQL skills and experience building data models and pipelines; dbt experience is a plus.
- Strong grounding in statistics and econometrics, including regression, hypothesis testing and forecasting.
- Hands-on experience using AI tools and automation in analytical work; Python is a strong plus.
- Solid understanding of P&L structure, budgeting and forecasting, and clear written and verbal communication for senior leaders.
- Must be based in the United States. Experience with Snowflake, Looker or NetSuite is a plus.
