Senior Data Analyst (Remote, Canada)

A health and life sciences company is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to join its Enterprise Data and Analytics team. The role centres on turning complex scientific and operational data into clear insights that guide performance tracking and strategic decisions. You will work closely with engineering, product and business teams to shape how data solutions are designed and delivered in a research and development setting.

What you'll do

• Analyze complex scientific and operational datasets to surface insights and support strategic initiatives.
• Map business process rules and produce business flow and data flow diagrams to inform system design.
• Build analytical solutions that give visibility into key KPIs and performance trends.
• Run deep-dive analyses on difficult problems and present findings clearly to non-technical audiences.
• Lead requirements workshops and User Acceptance Testing for new data products and analytics solutions.
• Profile, mine and validate data to confirm it is fit for business use.

What you need

• Bachelor's degree in business management, computer science or a related field; an MBA or master's in information systems or computer science is an asset.
• At least 5 years of experience writing complex SQL, data mining, data profiling and data validation/testing.
• At least 5 years as a business systems or data analyst, ideally in a senior or lead capacity, and at least 5 years organizing and running UAT cycles with business users.
• Hands-on experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker or MicroStrategy, and experience working in Agile delivery.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to translate business needs into well-written user stories.
• Must be based in Canada. Experience in life sciences or biotechnology is a plus.
