Senior Infrastructure Security Engineer (Visa Sponsorship - San Francisco, USA)
Visa sponsorship available. A fast-growing generative media platform company building the infrastructure, model access and tooling that developers and enterprises use to run AI products in production at scale. The team is hiring a senior engineer to secure the foundation of its GPU compute platform, covering the layers below the application: the kernel, the hypervisors and sandboxes that isolate customer workloads, GPU drivers and firmware, and the host machines themselves. Daily use of AI tools is a core part of the job.
What you'll do
- Build and maintain the threat model for running untrusted code on shared GPU hosts, spanning containers, microVMs, PCIe, IOMMU and GPU passthrough
- Design and verify GPU memory and device-state scrubbing between tenants, and help roll out hardware-backed isolation such as confidential computing and attestation
- Harden kernel builds and host images, including LSMs, seccomp, namespace and cgroup policy, and measured boot
- Assess and triage vulnerabilities in the kernel, hypervisors, GPU drivers and firmware, set severity, and drive fixes or mitigations without disrupting the fleet
- Partner with detection and response teams on telemetry and act as escalation point for host, kernel and driver incidents
- Work with GPU vendors, cloud providers and upstream maintainers on disclosure and fixes
What you need
- 5+ years in systems or security engineering with deep hands-on work in the Linux kernel, hypervisors or device drivers
- Fluent in kernel C and comfortable in Rust, Go or Python for tooling
- Strong understanding of virtualization internals such as KVM, VFIO and IOMMU/DMA protection, and the tradeoffs between containers, sandboxes and microVMs
- Daily, practical use of LLMs, agents and AI coding tools to review code and accelerate research
- Ability to explain risk clearly to both kernel engineers and executives
- Experience with NVIDIA GPU stack, confidential computing (SEV-SNP, TDX) or prior work at a GPU cloud, hyperscaler or chip vendor is a strong plus
