Software Engineer, AI Data (Remote, France)

This is a software engineering role on the AI team of a fast-growing AI audio and reading-technology company that operates with no office and a fully distributed workforce. You will build the data pipelines that feed model training and new AI products. The work centers on producing large, high-quality audio datasets at very large scale and low cost, combining engineering, infrastructure and research.

What you'll do

• Find new sources of audio data and build reliable pipelines that bring them into training datasets.
• Build and improve large-scale data-processing systems, focusing on data quality, throughput and cost.
• Work closely with AI scientists to improve training data and support next-generation model development.
• Own engineering projects from problem discovery through implementation and ongoing improvement.

What you need

• Must be based in France to apply.
• Degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with solid backend fundamentals.
• Proficiency in Python and Bash in Linux environments.
• Experience building and operating production systems, ideally data pipelines or large-scale data processing.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in ambiguous settings.
