Software Engineer, AI Data (Remote, Netherlands)

The company is fully distributed with no office. This is a software engineering role on the AI team of a fast-growing, fully distributed company that makes audio and text-to-speech reading tools used by tens of millions of people. You will build the data pipelines that feed model training and new AI products. The work centers on high-quality datasets at very large scale, with a strong emphasis on cost and efficiency. The company describes its culture as asynchronous, autonomous and focused.

What you'll do

• Find new sources of audio data and build reliable pipelines that bring them into training datasets.
• Build and improve large-scale data-processing systems, optimizing for data quality, throughput and cost.
• Work closely with AI scientists to improve training data and support next-generation model development.
• Own engineering projects from initial problem discovery through implementation and ongoing improvement.

What you need

• A degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience with solid backend fundamentals.
• Proficiency in Python and Bash in Linux environments.
• Experience building and running production systems, ideally data pipelines or large-scale data processing.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in ambiguous situations.
• Must be based in the Netherlands.
