Software Engineer, AI Data (Remote - US only)

This is a full-time software engineering role on the AI team at a fast-growing AI audio company whose 100% distributed team of about 200 people works asynchronously with no office. You will build the data pipelines that feed model training and next-generation AI products. The work centers on large-scale audio and text datasets, where engineering, infrastructure and research come together.

What you'll do

• Find new sources of audio data and build reliable pipelines to bring them into training datasets.
• Build and improve large-scale data-processing systems, optimizing for data quality, throughput and cost.
• Work closely with AI scientists to improve training data and support new model development.
• Own engineering projects from problem discovery through implementation and ongoing improvement.
• Operate production systems that run at petabyte scale.

What you need

• A degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong backend fundamentals.
• Proficiency in Python and Bash in Linux environments.
• Experience building and running production systems, ideally data pipelines or large-scale data processing.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in ambiguous environments.
• Must be based in the United States.
