Software Support Engineer

This is a fully remote, worldwide support role with a software company that builds and supports open-source operating systems and enterprise tools. The work combines customer-facing problem solving with hands-on engineering, so you would investigate issues, read and fix code, and explain findings clearly to users. It suits people with a mid-level software support background who enjoy Linux, debugging, and working across systems and cloud infrastructure. A computer science or other STEM degree is preferred.

What you'll do

• Resolve technical support tickets for enterprise open-source software and Linux tools
• Diagnose software bugs, operating system anomalies and cloud infrastructure issues
• Debug scripts and code using Python, Go, C or C++
• Handle user escalations and follow problems through to resolution
• Communicate technical findings clearly in writing

What you need

• Mid-level software support experience
• Degree in computer science or another STEM subject preferred
• Hands-on programming skills in Python, Go, C or C++
• Strong knowledge of Linux systems and tools
• Clear written technical communication
• Experience handling user escalations
