Technical Specialist I (B Corp Certification Auditor)

A remote, independent contractor role supporting the certification of organisations seeking B Corp status. The work is part of an energy, biomaterials and circularity division of a sustainability certification body. The role suits someone with a background in sustainability, environmental science or social sciences who enjoys detailed, evidence-based review. You would assess how organisations perform on environmental, social and governance practices against recognised standards, while keeping the process rigorous, impartial and credible. Travel for site visits is part of the role, and the position is home-office based.

What you'll do

• Conduct third-party audits of organisations against B Lab Standards
• Review documents, processes and practices, and hold interviews and site inspections where needed
• Identify non-conformities and areas for improvement, and write clear, actionable audit reports
• Manage the audit process with clients and keep them informed in a timely way
• Take part in audit planning, follow-up, calibration and witness audits
• Maintain competency records and uphold impartiality and confidentiality

What you need

• Bachelor's degree or higher in sustainability, environmental science, social sciences or a related field
• At least 2 years' professional experience in sustainability, social or related fields
• Experience auditing sustainability or management system standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001 or ISO 45001
• Excellent technical writing, data management and analytical skills
• Fluent English and advanced skills in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Ability to complete mandatory B Lab training
