Functional Loans Consultant, Banking Loans Management (Remote, South Africa)

Candidates must be based in South Africa. A fast-growing software company serving financial services firms with cloud-based core banking and insurance solutions is hiring a functional consultant for its loans management practice. You will work directly with banks to define lending requirements and shape solutions on an enterprise banking platform. The role spans full project lifecycles and includes helping banks move existing banking systems to newer transactional banking platforms.

What you'll do

• Serve as the functional subject matter expert for loans management processes and the supporting banking platform.
• Run workshops with bank clients to capture requirements, review current processes and system landscapes, and turn them into functional specifications.
• Produce solution designs, process definitions and project documentation for loans functionality.
• Assess custom developments in existing systems and recommend standard-based solutions or workarounds, including during platform transition projects.
• Prepare functional test scenarios, support system integration and user acceptance testing, and investigate defects.
• Coordinate with technical consultants and solution architects, and support migration, data validation and go-live activities.

What you need

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, information technology, business, finance, economics or a related field.
• 6 to 8 years of experience in banking loans management or enterprise banking platform implementations and support, ideally on SAP banking software.
• Solid understanding of bank lending processes and loan product requirements.
• Hands-on experience with requirements gathering, process analysis, functional specification writing and solution design.
• Experience with functional testing, including SIT, UAT and defect analysis.
• Business-fluent English, written and spoken.
• Comfortable working independently and within a distributed, international project team.
