Technical Specialist I (Remote Certification Auditor)

A remote, independent contractor role supporting third-party certification audits for organisations pursuing B Corp status. The work is based in a global sustainability and impact certification organisation that assesses social and environmental performance and governance against published standards. The role suits sustainability, environmental or social science graduates with audit experience who value rigour, impartiality and clear reporting. Home-based working with occasional domestic or international travel for site visits.

What you'll do

• Conduct third-party audits of organisations against certification standards, including document review, interviews and site inspections where needed
• Review audit reports for conformity with applicable standards and audit guidance
• Identify non-conformities and areas for improvement, and provide clear, actionable recommendations
• Manage audit timelines, deliverables and follow-up on findings with clients
• Take part in audit planning, calibration activities and witness audits
• Maintain competency records and keep up to date with programme requirements

What you need

• Bachelor's degree or higher in sustainability, environmental science, social sciences or a related field
• At least 2 years' professional experience in sustainability, social or related fields
• Experience auditing sustainability or management system standards, such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 or RSPO
• Knowledge of environmental, human rights or labour laws, or GHG accounting
• Fluent English, strong written reporting and advanced Excel skills
• Willingness to complete mandatory training and maintain impartiality and confidentiality
