Technical Support Engineer 2 (Remote - Ireland)

A remote-first software company serving developers and businesses worldwide is recruiting a technical support engineer for its voice and platform support team. The role suits someone based in Ireland who enjoys solving technical problems for developers and explaining complex ideas clearly. The team supports customers building on cloud communication APIs and SDKs, so the work blends hands-on troubleshooting with close collaboration across product and engineering. The position involves a rota that includes weekends and public holidays, and occasional travel for in-person meetings.

What you'll do

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex customer issues, including quality of service problems
• Act as a subject matter expert on the company's APIs and SDKs, explaining concepts by phone or email
• Diagnose SIP, VoIP, IP telephony and network connectivity problems
• File clear, reproducible bug reports and share customer feedback with product and engineering teams
• Suggest process improvements based on recurring customer pain points
• Cover a weekly rota that includes weekends and public holidays

What you need

• At least 2 years of technical support or similar relevant experience
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting server-side and client-side JavaScript; Node.js, Python, Java or C# is a bonus
• Solid understanding of APIs, HTTP, RESTful services, TCP/UDP and SSL/TLS
• Experience with SIP, VoIP or IP telephony troubleshooting; basic SQL and object-oriented programming knowledge
• Excellent written and spoken English and a customer-first approach
• Must be based in Ireland
