Technical Writer (AI Output Evaluator)

A remote contract role for an experienced developer-documentation writer to evaluate AI-generated technical writing. The work is part of an AI training and quality project run by an online talent platform for specialist experts. It suits people who have led developer documentation for cloud, API-first or developer-tool products and who can spot a subtly wrong technical explanation. Prior experience rating AI-generated writing is a strong plus. The engagement starts with a short paid pilot and may continue on a month-to-month basis.

What you'll do

• Review paired AI-generated developer-facing writing, such as CLI help text, error messages and API reference documentation, against a client's brief and writing guide
• Read diffs and terminal output closely to catch incorrect technical explanations
• Select the preferred sample, or flag a tie or a sample that is not suitable to judge
• Write a one-line reason for each verdict and apply tags that support it
• Pass a calibration test against a known-answer set before working on live data

What you need

• Experience leading developer documentation at a technology company, ideally for cloud platforms, APIs or developer tools
• Comfortable writing or evaluating CLI help, error messages and API references
• Strong attention to technical accuracy
• Prior experience rating AI-generated writing is a strong plus
• Able to work about 5 hours a day across 5 business days for the pilot
