U.S. Immigration Paralegal (Remote)

A well-established U.S. immigration law practice with offices in the United States and international operations is recruiting a remote immigration paralegal. The team handles a broad range of U.S. immigration matters alongside attorneys and support staff. The role suits an experienced, organised paralegal who enjoys detail-driven work, manages a busy caseload and keeps on top of firm deadlines. Candidates should be based in South Africa, Taiwan, Colombia or Argentina and be able to cover at least six hours of overlap with Pacific Time business hours. The position is engaged as an independent contractor.

What you'll do

• Prepare, organise and file immigration petitions, applications and supporting documents
• Draft and review legal documents, declarations, affidavits, letters and client correspondence
• Communicate with clients to collect information, request documents and give case updates
• Keep digital case files accurate and well organised
• Use case management and CRM platforms to track deadlines, case progress and scheduling
• Work with attorneys on case preparation and workflow, including legal technology and AI-assisted tools

What you need

• Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience with U.S. immigration cases
• Experience preparing and managing U.S. immigration petitions and applications
• Experience with legal case management or CRM software
• Excellent written and verbal English and strong drafting skills
• Reliable home office with high-speed internet and backup power; brief writing assessment in selection
