Compensation Lead (Remote - US only)
This is a high-impact individual contributor role on a Total Rewards team at a Series D healthtech company that provides software and automation for independent mental health practices. The team owns pay ranges, equity programs, and compensation cycles that affect thousands of pay decisions each year. You will report to the Compensation Manager and help build the next stage of the company's compensation function. The role suits someone who thrives on ambiguous problems and enjoys building structure around them.
What you'll do
- Lead the analysis behind annual compensation cycles, including market pricing, range updates, and budget scenario modeling, and prepare materials for leaders to decide on
- Build recommendations for new hire offers, promotions, and equity actions, and work through cases that fall outside guidelines with recruiters and HR business partners
- Create models, frameworks, and tools that keep pay decisions consistent as the company grows
- Improve company-wide compensation processes and reduce rework in recurring cycles
- Use AI and automation to pull context, flag exceptions, draft decision materials, and automate recurring analysis, with human judgment making final calls
- Act as a trusted compensation partner to HR business partners, Talent Acquisition, and managers, and improve data quality across HR and compensation systems
What you need
- 4+ years of experience in compensation or total rewards, consulting, finance, or a similar analytical role; compensation experience is not strictly required
- Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills and a record of turning complex questions into clear recommendations
- Hands-on experience using AI tools to build and improve workflows, with sound judgment about where human analysis matters most
- Strong written and verbal communication, able to explain sensitive pay topics to non-experts and build cross-functional trust
- High standard of accuracy and discretion with confidential compensation, equity, and performance data
- Must be based in the United States
Applicants must be based in: United States.
