HR Generalist (Remote - US only)

Candidates must live in the United States and be legally authorized to work there. Visa sponsorship is not available. A small, growing healthcare technology company that helps specialty care practices improve patient experience and reduce administrative workload is hiring a remote HR Generalist. This person will be the go-to HR contact for the team and will own day-to-day HR operations, from benefits and payroll support to employee relations and policy compliance. The role reports to the Director of Operations and suits someone who likes building processes in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

What you'll do

• Act as the primary HR contact for team members, answering questions and guiding them on policies and employment matters
• Administer benefits with brokers and vendors, including open enrollment, qualifying life events, and benefits issues
• Keep employee records accurate and confidential in HR systems and support payroll adjustments
• Manage compliance with federal and state employment laws, including leave administration, accommodation requests, unemployment insurance and workers' compensation, bringing in legal counsel when needed
• Handle employee relations matters, documenting issues and escalating sensitive situations appropriately
• Review and update the employee handbook and HR policies, and support performance reviews, compensation cycles and engagement surveys

What you need

• 4+ years of HR, HR administration or HR generalist experience
• Hands-on experience with benefits administration, payroll support and employee relations
• Working knowledge of federal and state employment law, including ADA, FMLA, workers' compensation and multi-state compliance
• Experience with HRIS and payroll platforms such as Gusto, Rippling or ADP; experience with performance tools such as Lattice is a plus
• Strong organization, attention to detail and discretion with sensitive information
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent career experience; must be a U.S. resident with legal authorization to work in the U.S.
