Cyber Security Analyst

A remote, full-time role for a Cyber Security Analyst with a business and technology education organisation. The analyst will protect digital systems, networks and information from cyber threats, monitoring security events, investigating suspicious activity and supporting incident response. The role suits an analytical, detail-oriented professional with several years in security operations or IT security who can work independently and collaborate with distributed teams.

What you'll do

• Monitor security alerts, logs and events across networks, endpoints, applications and cloud environments
• Investigate security incidents, assess their impact and recommend containment and remediation
• Operate and support SIEM and other security monitoring tools
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and track remediation efforts
• Support incident response, including evidence collection, documentation and post-incident reviews
• Prepare security reports covering incidents, vulnerabilities and recommended corrective actions

What you need

• Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, computer science, IT or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
• 2–4 years of experience in cybersecurity, security operations, threat monitoring or vulnerability management
• Practical experience with SIEM, endpoint protection or other security monitoring tools
• Knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, VPNs and common attack techniques
• Understanding of phishing, malware, ransomware and incident response processes
• Industry-recognised cybersecurity certifications are desirable
