Cybersecurity Officer (West Africa, Remote)

A remote, hands-on cybersecurity role covering Francophone and Anglophone West Africa for a payments infrastructure company that connects mobile money and financial services across the African continent. The post suits an experienced security professional who enjoys working in a regulated, fast-growing fintech environment and who can move easily between technical teams and regulators. The role is open to candidates who meet the stated nationality requirement, with a stated preference for those based in the WAEMU/UEMOA region. Fluent English and French are essential.

What you'll do

• Carry out the regional cybersecurity programme in line with global strategy and standards
• Run security risk assessments, vulnerability reviews and control assessments, and prioritise remediation
• Coordinate security incident response with Engineering and Operations teams
• Drive closure of vulnerabilities, penetration test findings and audit actions across teams
• Support audits and regulatory engagements with central banks, regulators and data protection authorities
• Coordinate third-party security assessments and penetration tests, and deliver security awareness initiatives

What you need

• 4+ years in cybersecurity or information security within fintech, telecoms, banking or another regulated industry
• Professional fluency in English and French, written and spoken
• Practical experience with frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST or PCI-DSS
• Hands-on experience with vulnerability management, incident response and security monitoring
• Experience with SIEM, EDR or similar security tooling and supporting audits
• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline; certifications such as CISSP, CISA or CEH are an advantage
