Finance & Accounts Manager

A full-time finance leadership role based onsite in Onikan, Lagos, with a building construction business. The post suits an experienced accountant who has moved into management and enjoys combining detailed record-keeping with financial analysis and planning. The role sits at the centre of the company's money matters, working closely with project, quantity surveying and HR colleagues. It is well suited to someone comfortable with statutory compliance, audits and construction-style cost tracking.

What you'll do

• Keep accurate, up-to-date financial records, including payables, receivables, payroll and the general ledger
• Prepare regular financial reports such as balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements, and highlight areas to improve
• Help develop and track annual budgets and financial forecasts
• Prepare and file tax returns and statutory remittances on time and in line with regulations
• Work with external auditors by providing documentation and meeting audit requirements
• Monitor cash flow, prepare projections and recommend ways to manage liquidity

What you need

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• Professional accounting certification such as ICAN is an advantage; an M.Sc. is also an advantage
• 7 to 10 years of accounting experience, ideally in construction or engineering, including at least 3 years at management or supervisory level
• Strong grasp of accounting principles, financial analysis and reporting
• Proficiency with accounting software and tools such as Excel and ERP systems
• Good organisation, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
