Payment Operations Specialist (Remote - US only)

Candidates must be based in the US. This is an entry-level to early-career payment operations role at a privately owned company that provides online selling and payment services to software, SaaS, gaming, and digital product businesses. The team keeps a large network of sellers paid and protected by monitoring processor activity, handling chargebacks, and resolving payment issues. The role reports to the Director of Trust and Safety and offers a path into payments, risk, and fraud work.

What you'll do

• Help run the chargeback process from start to finish, including preparing and submitting representments.
• Track chargeback volumes, win rates, and other payment KPIs using existing reports and tools.
• Work with sellers and internal teams to gather documentation needed for dispute responses.
• Watch payment processor dashboards and alerts to spot potential issues or disruptions.
• Handle Tier I and Tier II payment-related questions from sellers and internal staff.
• Investigate routine problems involving settlements, refunds, disputes, or processor behavior, and help write and maintain SOPs.

What you need

• At least 1 year of experience in payments operations, chargebacks, customer support operations, finance operations, or a similar role.
• Basic understanding of card payments and the chargeback and dispute lifecycle.
• Exposure to chargeback processing, payment processors, or merchant-of-record environments is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, comfort following documented processes, and clear organizational and communication skills.
• Comfortable working with data, dashboards, and spreadsheets; familiarity with processor or dispute tools is a plus.
• Must be located in the United States.
