Infrastructure Engineer (Remote, US)

A fully distributed, early-stage software company that builds secure networking tools is looking for an infrastructure engineer to strengthen the systems behind its internal business teams. The role is fully remote and open to candidates based in the United States. It suits someone who enjoys reliability work and tooling, takes ownership of projects from start to finish, and is comfortable moving work forward independently and asynchronously within a small, collaborative engineering team.

What you'll do

• Design, build, test and document core software components alongside a team of engineers
• Improve observability through metrics, alerting, logging and telemetry integration
• Build and refine continuous deployment pipelines and automate upgrades for managed services and virtual machines
• Use infrastructure as code to make changes in a cloud environment
• Take part in incident response and customer support escalations, and improve the efficiency, scalability and stability of running services

What you need

• Experience with CI/CD, secrets management, infrastructure as code and observability
• Experience with distributed systems and operating managed services in a cloud environment, preferably AWS
• Working knowledge of networking fundamentals such as IP addressing and routing
• Experience running Kubernetes in production is a strong plus
• Experience with Go is a plus
• Strong written and verbal communication and the ability to work asynchronously and independently
