Senior DevOps/SRE Engineer (Remote - US only)

Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. Some roles may require U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a federal background investigation and/or security clearance. A small, fast-moving software company building products for the federal government is hiring a senior DevOps or SRE engineer for its team supporting a federal agency that serves veterans. This is a rapid-response engineering group brought in to tackle the most complex and high-priority technical problems across veteran-facing systems. The role suits someone who enjoys broad ownership, working across many engineering teams, and raising the operational bar.

What you'll do

• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and infrastructure across Azure and AWS
• Own monitoring and observability using tools such as Datadog or Dynatrace to find and fix issues before they escalate
• Reduce mean time to recovery through stronger incident management, runbooks, and automated remediation
• Provision and manage infrastructure as code with Terraform
• Write automation scripts in Python, Bash, or PowerShell to streamline operations
• Work with development teams across programs to resolve engineering issues and improve platform stability, and mentor junior engineers on DevOps standards

What you need

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or cloud infrastructure engineering
• Hands-on experience with both Azure and AWS
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog or Dynatrace
• Proficiency with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code practices
• Solid scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell
• Bachelor's degree
• Familiarity with federal government platforms, GitHub Enterprise practices, or VA.gov-style standards is a plus
• Clear written and verbal communication, comfortable working remotely in an Agile environment
