Legal Officer / Company Lawyer

A full-time legal role based on Lagos Island for a lawyer who wants to work at the intersection of property, construction and corporate affairs. The organisation is a real estate development business active in the Lagos property market. The role suits a commercially minded solicitor with a background in real estate or construction law who can spot legal risk early and offer practical, business-focused advice to management and colleagues.

What you'll do

• Draft, review and negotiate property sale agreements, leases, tenancy agreements and construction contracts
• Carry out legal due diligence on properties, including title verification and ownership searches
• Advise management on land acquisition, development projects and construction risks
• Review contractor, consultant and vendor agreements
• Ensure compliance with laws, planning requirements and statutory obligations
• Support dispute resolution, debt recovery and litigation management

What you need

• LL.B and call to the Nigerian Bar as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court
• Around 3 to 5 years' post-qualification experience, ideally in real estate, construction or property law
• Hands-on experience in title verification, land transactions and contract drafting
• Good knowledge of Nigerian property law, land administration and contract law
• Strong negotiation, analytical and legal drafting skills
• High integrity and the ability to manage multiple assignments with minimal supervision
