Senior Legal Counsel

This is a senior in-house legal role based onsite in Lagos, Nigeria, at a business operating in the industrial and project-driven sector. The position suits an experienced, qualified lawyer with eight to ten years of post-call practice who enjoys advising leadership on commercial agreements, regulatory obligations and governance. The role blends hands-on drafting and negotiation with oversight of compliance, insurance and external legal matters, making it a good fit for a confident, detail-minded counsel who can work closely with management.

What you'll do

• Advise management on contracts, transactions and regulatory matters
• Draft, review and negotiate legal agreements
• Oversee statutory filings, licences, permits and compliance
• Manage corporate insurance and company property documentation
• Support corporate governance and company secretarial functions
• Manage legal disputes and work with external solicitors

What you need

• LL.B. and qualification to practise as a Barrister and Solicitor in Nigeria
• 8–10 years' post-call experience
• Oil & Gas, engineering, construction or marine industry experience is an advantage
• Strong expertise in contract management, compliance and corporate governance
• Excellent negotiation, communication and analytical skills
