Senior AI Software Engineer (Remote - Germany)

This is a senior engineering role at a fintech company building a product that helps investors make better decisions by combining live market data, financial news and generative AI. The product is used daily by its investor audience. The team is small enough to give engineers real ownership and moves quickly with a pragmatic approach. You will work mainly in Python, FastAPI and AWS.

What you'll do

• Build and ship AI-powered full-stack features from idea through to production.
• Develop scalable backend services and data pipelines using Python and FastAPI.
• Design, deploy and operate production systems on AWS.
• Make architecture and technical decisions, including when an LLM is the right tool versus a tuned ML model or a simple heuristic.
• Own reliability, observability and performance of the systems you build, and contribute to code reviews.
• Use AI coding tools to improve the team's development workflow.

What you need

• Senior-level software engineering experience with a track record of shipping production software.
• Strong Python skills; Python is central to the role.
• Hands-on AWS experience (or a comparable cloud provider) is essential.
• Experience with FastAPI, cloud architecture and production systems.
• Practical experience with GenAI and AI-assisted development.
• Ability to take problems end to end and communicate technical decisions clearly.
• Based in Germany.
