Senior Java Full Stack Engineer

A senior software role building next-generation electronic trading platforms for a financial services organisation. The work centres on designing distributed, event-driven systems that prioritise low latency and high throughput, within a trade management engineering team. It suits experienced engineers with a decade or more of hands-on development, strong Java and Linux skills, and an interest in capital markets technology and mentoring others. The position is remote and open to candidates worldwide, offered on a contract basis.

What you'll do

• Architect and develop distributed, event-driven trading systems for low latency and high throughput
• Design asynchronous processing frameworks and resilient messaging services
• Work with internal and external teams to deliver end-to-end trading workflows
• Lead performance tuning and optimisation efforts
• Mentor junior engineers and promote best practice
• Support production and non-production environments, including a weekly on-call rotation
