Senior Platform Software Engineer (Remote - Europe, within 3 hours of CET)

Candidates must live within three hours of Central European Time. A small engineering team at a B2B SaaS company is looking for a senior engineer to own production infrastructure and the reliability foundations that let the team ship with confidence as the product grows. You will work closely with product and stakeholders to shape technical direction. The role suits someone who enjoys owning systems end to end and making practical trade-offs.

What you'll do

• Design, deploy and run AWS infrastructure covering compute, messaging, storage, networking and observability.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines that take changes from commit to production automatically.
• Run PostgreSQL in production, including configuration, performance tuning, schema migrations, and backup and restore strategies.
• Balance delivery speed against long-term system quality and make sound calls on trade-offs.
• Investigate complex distributed-systems problems and deliver durable fixes at scale.
• Use AI-assisted development tools where they add value to development and delivery work.

What you need

• At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience, including ownership of platform engineering, infrastructure, DevOps, or founding-engineer work.
• Hands-on experience running production AWS infrastructure and Terraform, ideally with infrastructure managed as code.
• Production PostgreSQL experience, including connection pooling, migrations, query optimisation, and backup and restore.
• Experience operating high-traffic or highly available systems.
• Working knowledge of TypeScript and Node.js, including NestJS, plus experience with distributed-systems concerns such as ordering, idempotency, retries and partial failures.
• Must be based in Europe with residence within three hours of Central European Time. Visa sponsorship is not available.
