Senior Platform Software Engineer (Remote - Europe)

A small engineering team at a B2B SaaS company is looking for a senior engineer to own production infrastructure and the reliability foundations that let the team ship with confidence as the product grows. You will work closely with product and stakeholders to shape architecture and technical direction. The role suits someone who enjoys owning systems end to end and making practical tradeoffs between speed and quality.

What you'll do

• Design, deploy and operate AWS infrastructure covering compute, messaging, storage, networking and observability.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines that take changes from commit to production automatically.
• Run PostgreSQL in production, including configuration, performance tuning, migrations, and backup and restore strategies.
• Investigate complex distributed-systems issues and deliver reliable fixes at scale.
• Partner with product teams to shape architecture and technical direction.
• Use AI-assisted development tools where they add value in development and delivery workflows.

What you need

• At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience, including ownership of platform engineering, infrastructure, DevOps, or founding engineering work.
• Deep hands-on experience with AWS and Terraform running production infrastructure, ideally managed as code.
• Production PostgreSQL experience, including connection pooling, migrations, optimisation, and backup and restore.
• Experience operating high-traffic or highly available production systems.
• Working familiarity with TypeScript and Node.js, including NestJS; experience with CI/CD and handling ordering, idempotency, retries and partial failures.
• Familiarity with agentic coding tools, strong debugging judgment, and the ability to make architecture decisions independently.
