Software Engineer, AI Data (Remote - US only)

A fast-growing AI and audio technology company with a fully distributed team is hiring a software engineer to build the data pipelines behind its model training and new AI products. The company serves tens of millions of users and works asynchronously across time zones with no physical office. The role suits an engineer who likes finding new data sources and building systems that make AI training more efficient and scalable.

What you'll do

• Find new sources of audio data and build reliable pipelines that bring them into training datasets.
• Build and improve large-scale data-processing systems, focusing on data quality, throughput and cost.
• Work closely with AI scientists to improve training datasets and support next-generation models.
• Own engineering projects from problem discovery through implementation and ongoing improvement.

What you need

• A degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with solid backend fundamentals.
• Proficiency in Python and Bash in Linux environments.
• Experience building and operating production systems, ideally data pipelines or large-scale data processing.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in ambiguous settings.
• Must be based in the United States.
• Experience with web crawlers, data acquisition or distributed data-processing systems.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and Infrastructure as Code, particularly GCP and Terraform.
