Software Engineer, AI Data (Remote - US only)

The posted pay range is for United States-based hires; the posting does not address eligibility outside the US. A fast-growing audio and AI company with a fully distributed team of about 200 people works on text-to-speech reading tools used by tens of millions of people. This engineering role sits on the AI team and focuses on building the data pipelines behind model training and new AI products. The work is autonomous and asynchronous, with a strong emphasis on ownership.

What you'll do

• Find new sources of audio data and build reliable pipelines that bring them into training datasets.
• Build and improve large-scale data-processing systems, balancing data quality, throughput and cost.
• Work closely with AI scientists to improve training data and support next-generation model development.
• Own engineering projects from problem definition through implementation and ongoing improvement.

What you need

• A degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with solid backend fundamentals.
• Proficiency in Python and Bash in Linux environments.
• Experience building and operating production systems, ideally data pipelines or large-scale data processing.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in ambiguous settings.
• Must be based in the United States.
