Supermarket Operations Manager

This full-time, onsite role in Maryland, Lagos, is for an experienced operations manager who will oversee the day-to-day running of a supermarket. The position covers store standards, staff, sales, stock, suppliers, costs and customer service, with a focus on keeping the store efficient and profitable. It suits someone with a solid background in retail, FMCG or similar fast-paced operations, who enjoys leading teams, working with numbers and reports, and staying on top of details. Flexibility for busy periods is part of the role.

What you'll do

• Oversee daily store operations and make sure procedures and standards are followed
• Supervise staff, manage schedules, monitor performance and provide training
• Track sales, analyse reports and act on ideas to grow revenue
• Manage inventory, replenishment, expiry dates, stock counts and discrepancies
• Coordinate suppliers, check deliveries and monitor supplier performance
• Control operating costs, reconcile cash collections and reduce wastage and losses

What you need

• Bachelor's degree, HND or equivalent in business, management, accounting, economics, retail management or a related field
• 3 to 5 years' experience in supermarket, retail, FMCG, hospitality or similar operations
• Proven team leadership and operational management experience
• Strong knowledge of inventory, retail sales and customer service
• Good numerical, analytical, communication and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; POS and inventory system experience is an advantage
