Support Engineer (Remote - Worldwide, Weekend APAC Shifts)

Shifts run Friday to Monday covering APAC hours (00:00-10:00 UTC). Candidates in Southeast Asia and India time zones are the primary focus. A fast-growing developer-focused backend platform company is hiring support engineers to help developers who run into problems or need guidance while building with its tools. The support team is spread across many countries and works closely with product engineering and growth teams to reduce the time it takes to resolve issues. This is a full-time, asynchronous role with four 10-hour weekend shifts.

What you'll do

• Send timely first responses to support cases covering topics from billing and pre-sales questions to performance and implementation questions.
• Triage incoming cases by pointing users to existing answers, code samples, and documentation, or by escalating to the right technical or business teammate.
• Monitor public community channels such as GitHub Issues and Discussions for user problems.
• Reproduce reported issues, write test cases, and help improve test coverage where possible.
• Identify internal tools that could be built or adopted to make support work faster.

What you need

• At least 3 years of experience providing developer-facing technical support.
• Strong SQL skills, ideally with PostgreSQL; comfort with complex queries. Database administration experience is a plus.
• Fluent, excellent written and spoken English.
• Comfortable with Linux/Unix and the command line.
• Experience working with GitHub Issues and Discussions.
• Working availability for the weekend APAC shift pattern described above.
• Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks such as React, Vue, or Svelte, and some Node.js experience.
• A computer science degree.
