Payments & Fraud Data Analyst (Remote - Georgia, Romania, Poland, Bulgaria)
A free-to-play social gaming company with a distributed team across Europe and beyond is hiring a data analyst to sit within its Business Intelligence group. The role focuses on payment performance, fraud and abuse prevention, and protecting genuine players. You will work alongside Payments, Fraud, Compliance and Operations teams to help them make faster, better-informed decisions.
What you'll do
- Own payment performance analysis, covering success rates, declines, payment methods and provider performance, and recommend changes that reduce friction and cost.
- Investigate fraud and abuse patterns in transactional and behavioural data, including promo abuse, multi-accounting, chargebacks and money cycling, and turn findings into rules, thresholds and player segments.
- Design, back-test and monitor automated risk decisions, and measure real-world impact after each change goes live.
- Build dashboards in Looker or Tableau and alerts for critical anomalies such as provider volume drops or risk spikes.
- Support Compliance with AML investigation queries, analysis and audit-ready reporting.
- Document data sources, metric definitions and automation logic so insights are reusable and trusted.
What you need
- Hands-on data analysis experience in payments, fraud, risk or AML, ideally in gaming, iGaming, fintech or another high-volume digital business.
- Strong SQL skills on a cloud data warehouse (BigQuery preferred) and practical experience with Looker, Tableau or Power BI.
- Proven experience analysing fraud and abuse patterns, with a clear understanding of the trade-off between fraud capture and player friction.
- Ability to take an ambiguous question from scoping through to delivery and follow-up impact monitoring.
- Clear written and spoken communication in English with stakeholders across Operations, Compliance and senior leadership in a remote setting.
- Residency in Georgia, Romania, Poland or Bulgaria.
Applicants must be based in: Poland, Bulgaria, Romania.
