Platform Engineer (Visa Sponsorship - Amsterdam, Netherlands)

This is a platform engineering role inside a fast-growing online marketplace for unique collectible and special objects, with a large in-house team and a broad customer base across many categories. The platform team provides the cloud, deployment, reliability, security and developer experience foundations that product engineering teams rely on. You will help shape and deliver the platform's long-term direction, with the goal of making it easy for engineers to ship safely and quickly.

What you'll do

• Build a self-service developer platform that abstracts infrastructure complexity, so teams can deploy, monitor and improve their applications on their own.
• Operate cloud-native infrastructure and Kubernetes clusters, with attention to performance, scalability and cost efficiency (FinOps practices).
• Improve CI/CD pipelines, GitOps workflows and reusable templates to shorten development and release cycles.
• Strengthen fault tolerance, disaster recovery and scaling so applications stay reliable as load changes.
• Enhance the observability stack, monitor platform health and handle incidents proactively.
• Partner with product teams to understand their needs and deliver simple, practical cloud-native solutions.

What you need

• At least 5 years of production experience with Kubernetes, container orchestration and a major cloud provider (GCP, AWS or Azure).
• Hands-on experience automating workflows and CI/CD pipelines, and using infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
• Experience with observability tooling such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK or OpenTelemetry.
• Strong ownership mindset, a habit of measuring outcomes, and a preference for gradual, low-risk change.
• Good collaboration skills and willingness to share knowledge; fluent written and spoken English (CV and cover letter in English).
• Ability to work from the Amsterdam office at least two days per week, or to relocate to the Netherlands.
