Software Engineer, AI Data (Remote, Hungary)

This is a fully distributed role with a fast-growing AI company that builds audio and reading technology used by tens of millions of people. The team is working on the data side of its AI models, building large-scale pipelines that turn raw audio and text sources into high-quality training datasets. You would work closely with the company's AI research scientists and take ownership of projects from early problem discovery through to production.

What you'll do

• Find and evaluate new sources of audio data and build reliable pipelines to bring them into training datasets.
• Build and improve large-scale data-processing systems, with attention to data quality, throughput and cost.
• Partner with AI scientists to refine training datasets and support the next generation of models.
• Own engineering projects end to end, including ongoing improvement after launch.

What you need

• A degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with solid backend fundamentals.
• Proficiency in Python and Bash in Linux environments.
• Experience building and operating production systems, ideally data pipelines or large-scale data processing.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in ambiguous settings.
• Must be based in Hungary.
• Experience with web crawlers, data acquisition or distributed data-processing systems.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and Infrastructure as Code, particularly GCP and Terraform.
