Software Engineer, AI Data (Remote - US only)

The company is fully distributed with no office, and works asynchronously across time zones. This is a software engineering role on the AI team of a distributed audio and AI company whose text-to-speech products are used by tens of millions of people. The team builds the data pipelines that feed model training and new AI products. The work combines engineering, infrastructure and research to produce large, high-quality datasets at very large scale and low cost.

What you'll do

• Find new sources of audio data and build reliable pipelines that bring them into training datasets.
• Build and improve large-scale data-processing systems, focusing on data quality, throughput and cost.
• Work closely with AI scientists to improve training data and support next-generation models.
• Own engineering projects from problem discovery through implementation and ongoing improvement.
• Operate production systems that keep data flowing reliably.

What you need

• A degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with solid backend fundamentals.
• Proficiency in Python and Bash in Linux environments.
• Experience building and running production data pipelines or large-scale data processing.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in ambiguous settings.
• Must be located in the United States.
