Software Engineer, AI Data (Remote - US only)

A fast-growing AI audio company with a large consumer base is hiring a software engineer to build the data pipelines behind its model training and new AI products. The team builds large, high-quality audio and text datasets by combining engineering, infrastructure and research. You will work on finding new data sources and making training data collection more scalable and cost-efficient. The role is asynchronous and works independently with minimal oversight.

What you'll do

• Find new sources of audio data and build reliable pipelines that bring them into training datasets
• Build and improve large-scale data-processing systems, focusing on data quality, throughput and cost
• Work closely with AI scientists to improve training data and support next-generation model development
• Own engineering projects from problem definition through implementation and ongoing improvement

What you need

• A degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with solid backend fundamentals
• Proficiency in Python and Bash in Linux environments
• Experience building and operating production systems, ideally data pipelines or large-scale data processing
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in ambiguous settings
• Must be based in the United States
