Team Lead Software Engineering (Remote, Germany)

This is a team lead position at a German online financial portal and digital brokerage business. You will lead a software engineering team building investment and trading features for retail users. The role combines hands-on technical responsibility for a cloud-based web platform with people leadership and a voice in product decisions.

What you'll do

• Lead and develop an engineering team that works in an agile, self-organised way
• Own the technical direction of the brokerage platform and portal, working with product, design and other stakeholders
• Bring brokerage and investment domain knowledge into technical and product decisions
• Drive code quality through architecture work, code reviews and engineering best practices
• Help build efficient development processes and support recruiting for the team

What you need

• Several years of experience building and operating cloud-based web applications, ideally on AWS
• Very good practical skills in Java, REST APIs and modern SPA frameworks such as Angular
• Experience leading engineering teams both technically and in terms of people management
• Hands-on experience with agile methods such as Scrum or Kanban, and with Jira and Confluence
• Degree in computer science, business informatics, media informatics or a comparable qualification
• Very good German and English skills; understanding of brokerage, securities trading or neo-broker environments is a strong plus
